A 4-year-old live sourdough starter – loved by many home bakers!

This isn’t just any sourdough starter.
It’s my 4-year-old, mature and thriving starter, lovingly nurtured here at Olejanka. It’s the same one I use to bake all my rustic, naturally leavened breads – and now, it’s found its way into many other kitchens too!
You’ll find not only my loaves in the photo gallery below, but also beautiful bread baked by my lovely customers, using this very starter 💚

Made with just wholemeal wheat flour and filtered water, this starter contains no preservatives or added yeast – only nature doing its quiet, magical work. It’s active, strong, and ready to raise your dough.

How to use your starter:
➡️ Want to bake today? Feed it with 100g flour + 100g water, leave in a warm place for 2 hours – once bubbly and active, it’s ready to go.
➡️ Baking tomorrow? Feed and pop it in the fridge overnight – it will wake up full of energy.

Storage & care:
Store in the fridge for 5–7 days without feeding
Not baking every day? Feed it weekly (e.g. 100g flour + 100g water)
For best results, feed the day before baking to let it fully wake up
